About KanaKeyboard
KanaKeyboard is an independent browser-based resource for typing Japanese and completing practical language tasks.
Our purpose
The site helps people type Hiragana and Katakana without installing software, then explains how the same patterns work in full operating-system input methods. Focused utilities also help visitors explore names, read numbers, format addresses, and create decorative Hanko artwork.
What KanaKeyboard does
The keyboard converts Romaji locally and provides direct Kana buttons. Separate tools cover name ideas, phonetic name conversion, Japanese number readings, address order, typing practice, games, and decorative seal images. Guides cover keyboard setup, Kana rules, IME behavior, and layout terminology.
What KanaKeyboard does not do
KanaKeyboard is not a Japanese dictionary, translation service, legal identity service, or credentialed language school. It does not claim that automated Kana conversion can choose the correct Kanji, that address formatting validates delivery details, or that a generated Hanko image is a registered seal.
Privacy by design
Text entered into the tools is processed in the browser. It is not sent to KanaKeyboard or stored by the site. Harmless interface preferences may be saved on the visitor's own device.
