KanaKeyboard is designed so its main typing functions remain usable with a keyboard, assistive technology, zoom, touch input, and reduced-motion preferences.
Current measures
- Virtual Kana keys are real buttons with accessible labels.
- Interactive controls have visible focus states and logical order.
- Status changes such as copying are announced without intrusive dialogs.
- Text and controls use strong contrast and do not rely on color alone.
- Layouts adapt to narrow screens without requiring horizontal page scrolling.
- Reduced-motion preferences are respected.
Known considerations
Japanese text rendering depends partly on the fonts available on the visitor's device. The site uses system Japanese fallbacks to improve coverage. The explanatory JIS layout is horizontally scrollable on narrow screens because preserving the relationship among physical keys is important.
