Practice grammar in context

JLPT grammar questions test whether a form fits the meaning and structure of a complete sentence. Read the sentence before looking at the choices, predict the relationship you need, and then compare the alternatives.

Study by level

N5 and N4 establish particles, adjective changes, polite forms, and basic connectors. N3 adds purpose, cause, expectation, and more formal patterns. N2 and N1 require finer distinctions between expressions that may look similar in an English translation.

Review wrong answers immediately

After an error, read the explanation while the sentence is still active in memory. Write one new example using the correct structure. If particles are the main problem, isolate them with the Japanese Particle Quiz.
